Giraffage & XXYYXX “Even Though” – Free minimix
Young producers Giraffage & XXYYXX deliver an exquisite slice of melancholic and aerial dream pop with “Even Though”. Out on Kitsuné on May 14th!
San Francisco’s Charlie Yin sculpts sound with sonic malice and diversity. Like a possessed dj having fun with samples in an experimental lab, the 21-year old multi-instrumentalist knows no boundaries.
Produced in collaboration with XXYYXX the track puts hip-hop and jazz through the blender and demonstrates a certain expertise that didn’t escape to Kitsuné’s founder Gildas Loaëc, as the track is featured on the forthcoming compilation Kitsuné America!

Every time I think I find something really awesome, I find another track that is equally awesome the following week. It’s a never ending cycle of ups and downs. Kind of like this is a never ending cycle of bad ass samples and haunting rhythms. Seeing this live would make your week. Seeing this video might make your day. Brendan Canty of the Feel Good Lost production team really hooked this one up with some trippy visuals. He said he was inspired by his favorite album cover of all time, which happens to be one of my favorite albums of all time: Innerspeaker by Tame Impala. Kudos goes to him for the nod to TI. Right, but this track? Amazing. As we’ve shown you before with our previous coverage of Giraffage and our two articles (One // Two) on XXYYXX, we’re definitely fans of their work. This collab was gorgeous and I can only assume there’s more work to be done by these two in the future. Maybe a whole album? Charlie Yin and Marcel Everett have their single (and remixes) dropping on the French label/powerhouse Kitsune’. [...]
