Third stop: The Café de Flore !

Situated at the corner of Boulevard Saint-Germain and Rue St. Benoit, the Café de Flore is one of the oldest and the most prestigious coffeehouses in Paris. Opened in 1885, the name was taken from a sculpture of Flora, goddess of flowers and the season of spring in the Roman mythology.

The classic Art Deco interior of all red seating, mahogany and mirrors, it has been the literary-home to French intellectuals during the post-war years and to famous thinkers of the 1940s and 1950s such as Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Albert Camus!

Take your notebook or your favorite novel, order yourself an espresso and watch the life of Boulevard de St Germain strolling in front of the café’s terrasse!
