Alexis and Médéric formed BeatauCue in 2009, when the decided to realize a remix for “Pon the Floor” by Major Lazor from a radio rip. The two bedroom producers encountered success of that one and Diplo himself praised the daring work. After that, they started realizing many energetic remixes on as many labels for artists such as Kylie Minogue, Mika, Steve Aoki, Yelle, Two Door Cinema Club to name a few. Thanks to their explosive style, they obtained support by fellow DJs like Crookers, Mstrkrft, A-Trak or 2ManyDJs among others.
Subsequently, the young French producer duo has managed released five EPs on Kitsuné, namely “Cha Cha Cha” in Spring 2010, “Disque Oh !” in early 2011, “Falcon Punch” in Summer 2011 followed by “Slown Down” featuring Kenzie May in Spring 2012 and finally “Lyrel” the following year. When you know it all started as a game between the two friends, their dazzling rise is even more impressive.
Because of their numerous remixes, lives and featuring, “Cha Cha Cha” was highly awaited. Seven tracks of electro-techno sound that made people all around the world dance. The EP was composed of three original tracks and four remixes by Haaksman, DJA, Sharksplayer and Willnez Gre. During the year after their release, Major Lazer, Boys Noize, Steve Aoki, Cassius, Fake Blood, or Brodinski, among others, remixed or playlisted BeatauCue. That’s how great it was !
After a year of official remixes for artists such as Two Door Cinema Club, Designer Drugs or Boys Noize, the next EP, “Disque Oh !” was released in 2011. The eponym song was supposed to stay a single on Kitsuné’s compilation but when High Rankin, Don Rimini, Piemont, J-Wow and Euming &Chinon decided to remix “Disque Oh !”, it became this great EP.
“Falcon Punch” was their 3rd EP. With six original tracks including “H.O.W.L”, a collaboration with the Japanese DJ Shinichi Osawa a.k.a Mondo Grosso, “Falcon Punch” is another proof that there is no age for talent ! With an even more energetic sound and loads of turbine, BeatauCue definitely seem to be on the road to maturity.
Spring 2012, “Slow Down” is released. Featuring the talented autodidact UK singer Kenzie May, BeatauCue made the choice to add a sensual and feminine touch to their energetic electro. Catchy melody and stunning beats delighted worldwide dancefloors ! In addition, The Japanese Popstars, Adrian Lux, Dwntwn and Grand Marnier remixed the track.
After a busy year touring all around the world, BeatauCue is back in April 2013 with a new EP “Lyrel”. “Lyrel”, “Kicking Back” and “Red Blocka” are in the same vein as their previous productions and suited for clubs and remixes.
Even with the encountered success, BeatauCue have never forgotten about their stage roots !
